The 2016 Keiki Great Aloha Run a 1.5 mile  run around the Neal Blaisdell Center started with a bang and ended with 2,600 kids, parents and supporters crossing the Finish Line.   This year’s run raised $34,500 that will benefit the fitness and nutrition programs at 115 Oahu schools.

  • HAHPERD – For the support of your members in staffing the Packet Pickup and T-shirt distribution.  Your active partnership is vital to the event.
  • U.H. Food Science & Human Nutrition Council team – For the support of your members in preparing the nutritious breakfast bags.  FANTASTIC!
  • McKinley High School Athletic Teams and Cheerleading squad – For the many hands to help with set-up, serve as course marshals, and cheer on the runner.  Go Tigers!
  • YMCA of Honolulu – For collating and preparing the packets – many Thanks to the members of the Tai Chi classes.  For unfolding the tote bags the teens in Club Mid.  Your many helping hands made a huge task doable!  Mahalo to the Metropolitan YMCA for helping to promote the event.  Mahalo to Chris Aoki for his graphics skills that created this year’s logo.
  • Kama’aina Kids – For sharing the Keiki Corner at Living 808 with the Keiki Run.
  • City and County of Honolulu, Honolulu Police Department and Department of Transportation Services – For your support in ensuring the safety of our participants.
  • Keiki Run Planning Committee Members – Your attention to all the pre-event planning details resulted in a safe, smooth and successful event.
