More details to come!

Our Shared Mission

This event is proudly hosted by a coalition of non-profit organizations, community groups, public agencies, businesses, and schools that believe youth deserve equitable access to healthy activities. The Hawaii Department of Education (DOE) supports this event, as it aligns with student benchmarks for fitness and wellness. The event has received the DOE’s “Approval to Promote.”

History

Since 2015, Kaho`omiki and its partners have hosted an annual keiki run and raised over $150,000 for schools’ P.E. and nutrition programs. During the COVID years, the run went virtual and the Keiki Rainbow Wellness Challenge was created. Last year (2023), we were able to resume the in-person format and the keiki run was held at Honolulu’s beautiful Kaka`ako Waterfront Park.

The volunteers behind the run are P.E. teachers, youth service providers, kinesiologists, nutritionists, community members and parents – all sharing a vision that keiki be active and healthy.
